Back at the beginning of the 2020 Pandemic a lot of local markets and supermarkets were affected in terms of visits and revenue, mainly because of the lockdown. People were not able to move as much as before and some of them were even afraid to do so, therefore they started using alternatives such as online stores.
GoClick, a Portuguese technological company from Madeira, rapidly understood that these local stores needed to reach their customers online. Together with Grupo São Roque (supermarket chain from the island), they worked to find a solution that would benefit both the supermarkets and the confined customers.

GoClick needed to develop a multiplatform app that would work as an online store, so that any person could download the app on their phone, register, shop online, and pay for it, being able to either pick up the products in the store or receive it at home. It also needed to include the entire product catalog, as well as a Backoffice platform to update it.
Adding to all the required features it was also important that the app be developed as quickly as possible. The unpredictability scenario around the pandemic could make the app launch obsolete, so they had to move fast and be sure that the app was available when people needed it most.
Moving fast with Kalipso Studio, GoClick was able to develop and implement the app and a Backoffice for it in just 8 days. You can even download it from the PlayStore here.
Kalipso Studio was the chosen platform for this project due to its ability of multi-platform development, faster development time, simplicity in terms of processes, as well as a competent support team available to help.
As Filipe Fernandes from GoClick told us, “Kalipso is currently our main work tool. At the moment we have several projects developed in Kalipso: sales applications, automation applications, logistic applications, applications for Digital Signage, among others. We have never been left unanswered in development as the tool is very versatile.”
